Understanding Comics

The section read from Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud is one of the more interesting parts of the book. The book overall is a great read but this section delves into the human mind to show us that the human face can be as simple as a circle, two dots, and a line and no matter what we will always see a human face. McCloud shows the connection between the self and how we perceive ourselves through our face and facial expressions. Scott breaks down the complexities of the human face and how we perceive it into simple everyday language. When I first read this nearly a year ago and my mind was blown and I couldn't stress enough to other artists that they should read this book! Overall I understand the concepts and ideas Scott brought up always enjoy rereading his work.
